Oftentimes the smallest acts of kindness
can bring much joy to the lives of others. Since the time I started working at
Friendship, I have witnessed many of these deeds. Recently,
Ray was the recipient of the thoughtfulness of one family. Years back Ray owned
an electric scooter that he used to independently participate in yard work, which
he really enjoyed. Then his scooter broke down, preventing Ray from having the
amount of independence he once had. Thankfully though, through a staff person
at Friendship, Ray had the opportunity to receive an electric wheelchair from
a family who wanted to donate one to our agency. Ray gratefully accepted the gift.
Ray would like to take this opportunity
to thank the Conklin family for their generous donation and for making him so
happy. He can't wait until the summer so he can drive his new wheels around the
block of his home. By: Rachel
