Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do
when Tom comes for you...
Each week you'll find Tom G. out patroling the streets of Fargo in search of people parked in handicap accessible without appropriate markings.

In October of 2002, Tom became a volunteer for the COPPS (Citizens on Parking Patrol) program. The Fargo Police Department authorized the COPP volunteers to ticket vehicles, which do not have the appropriate markings on their vehicle, who park in the Mobility Impaired parking spaces. The volunteers also have authorization to ticket fire lanes, cross walks and blocked side walks.

Tom's duty as a volunteer involves monitoring handicap accessible parking spots in his designated area and to give out tickets to those that should not be parked in the spots. Tom said that people should move their car if they are parked somewhere they should not be.

Tom has had the opportuntiy to give out two tickets for a $100 fine each. Tom said that it's fun giving people tickets.

BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR TOM,
HE'S GONNA GET YOU!!
